I’m Mani Bhavana Ala, a textile designer and an emerging visual artist from India.

My practice moves between craft-led design and design-led art, informed by material processes and a solace found in the not-so-mundane of the every day.

I grew up in the city of Hyderabad, unlearnt design at my alma mater, the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, got in touch with my personal design vocabulary while at Jaipur, and currently work with textiles and photography, based in Bengaluru, India.
