Indigo of Bagru , a photo narrative presenting a part of an age-old practice. Bagru is a region in Rajasthan that carries a history of making indigo dyed resist-printed textiles. The series captures the nuanced interplay between the artisans, the pigment, the earth and the environment opening doors to complex realities. The traditional craft of mud-resist block printing technique intertwines with the natural habitat by using its own ground and the skin of the artisans that get in touch with it, alongside the beautifully intoxicating indigo's remains that alter the soil's natural composition, leaving behind traces of human activity that persist over time. Indigo here is beyond color, a living presence that stains hands, bleeds onto the ground and quietly inhabits the ecology surrounding the workshop.

Repetition to residue, the soil remembers and so does the breath of the maker.
