I’m Mani Bhavana Ala, a textile designer and an emerging visual artist from India.

My practice moves between craft-led design and design-led art, informed by material processes and a solace found in the not-so-mundane of the every day.

I grew up in the city of Hyderabad, unlearnt design at my alma mater, the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, developed a personal design vocabulary while at Jaipur, and am currently based in Bengaluru.
